The truth about gambling
As many forms of gambling continue to exist, ideas, principles and even new stories about gambling should never be taken seriously unless strong facts support them. It is true that most forms of gambling rely on one's luck and chance. But, players should always try to keep their heads up and try to obtain a realistic approach of enjoying any gambling activity.
The following notions about gambling need to be clarified and re-evaluated because even gambling has its version of superstitious beliefs:
1. Gambling is determined primarily by luck.
This notion cannot be considered as all true. Mathematical probabilities prove that anyone can calculate his odds. Even casinos rely on these mathematical probabilities to win against players. Do you know that casinos have predetermined the house winning odds percentage to at least be certain so it has an advantage over the players?
2. Doubtful betting systems of casino games
Many claim that casino games such as blackjack, poker, and slots have unreliable betting systems. But this is not true considering the fact that a player and casino house have various advantages against each other. Plus the fact that there is always a mathematical probability that everyone can rely on to win eventually.
3. Casinos' monitoring of slot machines
Many casino players believe that casinos control even slot machines. They say that the casino can solely determine if a player wins or loses on the slot machine. But, of course, this is still false. There isn't even any hidden camera or surveillance system installed in the slot machine. The game is always controlled by computer programs that randomly operates and cannot be tampered with by any casino personnel. When one wins, this has nothing do with winning the favor of the casino one is playing at.
4. Winning gamblers are always compensated by casinos.
Another story which continues to spread has something to do with compensating a winning gambler. Some people believe that casinos always make it a point to provide free accommodation to a winning gambler. This is still false because casinos compensate gamblers whether they made it big on that day or not. Casinos do this to foster good customer relations and loyalty with the players.
5. Winning back losses by gambling more
This belief is unacceptable because the results of each casino games are uncertain. Placing one's hope that they will regain their losses may seem too absurd. That's why one needs to have a little bit of self-control and follow certain strategies and limitations. Remember a game's previous outcome does not influence the next ones.
